Hello and welcome to my blog!
I’m Jason and have been working in IT for more years than I care to remember.
I currently work as a Service Manager for KCOM.
Before that, between 2006 and 2017 I worked as a freelance IT Consultant trading as tecivo Limited, providing professional services for IT systems architecture and project management.
This blog was part of the tecivo website and I’ve decided to keep it as a standalone site now that tecivo Limited is no longer trading.
The blog was created for a couple of reasons. Firstly because I think it would be interesting to be able to look back and over time to see where I was working, what I was working on and what I found interesting. Had I been able, (or willing), to start many years ago it would have been fascinating to be able to revisit what I had been up to. A lot has happened since set out to work in 1987 – across industries and across the world – and hopefully this blog will provide the opportunity to do exactly that in the coming years.
The other reason is simply as I was self-employed I hope that the website and blog would help potential employers by providing some background on me and what I’ve been responsible for in previous roles.
As well as putting down a few thoughts of what’s been going on for my own interest – most likely related to sports, gadgets, cars or TV and movies – I hope to blog information and tips about Citrix XenApp, AppSense, Microsoft Windows and whatever I want to record for future reference or I think might be useful.
You can find me on LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as with ID ‘Dorsetto’ on gaming platforms Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Game Center, (though typically you’ll find yourself up against my son as he’s the real gamer in the household).
